The Pharmaline HIV-1 & 2 identification Kit is designed according to the unique GAG protein region of the HIV-I virus and the unique LTR-2 & LTR-GAG region of the HIV-2 virus. The test works with Taqman Probe technology. Regions selected for design are stable in mutation frequency and generally do not differ between subspecies of viruses.
